Short story: being sick sucks. And sometimes it's okay to question a doctor.
So like 2 weeks ago I woke up with a bad headache...it got worse over the day(twas a Friday) but I did my best to ignore it(and cramps) as much as possible so I could try to enjoy my friend's bday party(despite the pain, Sam, I did have a fun time, and I'm sorry I couldn't enjoy it more :c ). When I got home that night I felt kinda warm, so I took my temp and found out I had a fever. I ended up with little to no sleep due to my headache and just miserable-ness.
Next morning, my dad took me over to the Urgent Care, where the doctor wrote it off as a bad sinus headache and gave me an antihistamine(which, for a day or two, made it feel worse, and did nothing for the fever). I felt worse as the days went by, and Wednesday I went to an actual doctor. He checked me over, and said I had tonsillitis. He prescribed me amoxicillin, and it took at least 4 days to start working. The fever left quickly, but I had some horrible issues sleeping since my throat was so swollen. I almost had my parents take me to the ER, but by morning(...Saturday?) I was able to start eating more than just yogurt and water. I nursed it for a few more days and Tuesday I was allowed to go out. I had very little pain in my throat, I'd been sleeping again, eating, and had a very desperate need to get anywhere that wasn't my house. So my boyfriend picks me up, and he takes me to the beach and we walk nd cuddle at his house nd it was just a marvelous day. I hadn't felt that good in a loooooong time.
The next morning(aka, yesterday), I woke up with a rash all over my arms, face, and torso. I was really upset cuz I thought I was finally getting better. I called the doctor, and he said I needed to get bloodwork done to confirm what he thinks might be mono. "Well, there's a slim chance that you could get a rash from the amoxicillin, which would mean you never had tonsillitis and instead have mono." Naturally that pisses me off 'cause he could have, ya know, maybe TESTED me before he gave me a prescription. So now I'm taking tons of Benadryl to get rid of this rash, and this morning I went in for blood work(I go back to the dr. tomorrow). The nice lady who took my blood looked at my arms and face and told me that her daughter has the same reaction when she takes amoxicillin 'cause she's allergic to it. This gives me a bit of hope that it isn't mono and I'll be fine in a day or so...but I won't know for sure until the results come in. I'm hopeful it isn't mono. 'Cause, face it, I hadn't seen Jordan in well over a week, so naturally there was a bit of kissing going on. >3>
Also, I didn't know guys could be so sweet. Jordan visited me yesterday, despite much protest from me as I didn't want him to see me all red and icky, and he just hugged me and told me I was still beautiful and ohgod it just kinda made me cry. ; u; he's just so good to me I just love that guy<3
So...hopefully I'm at the end of this whole, being sick thing. It really sucks, and I'm supposed to work Saturday @_@; and this is opening weekend...sigh. Ah well. Here's hoping for the best.
